These past 2 years....

NCLEX - It all comes down to this.  All the reading….all the highlighting….all the sticky notes….the late night breakdowns when I needed to complete clinical prep, with only 2 hours left to sleep before a full shift at the hospital….all the ass wiping….the putting myself at risk by always being stuck with the MRSA patients….washing my hands till they cracked and bled (and then putting sanitizing alcohol on them to clean them some more)…..dropping someone’s 100 mg Morphine pill on the floor for a man who was screaming for his pain med forever (keep in mind, 1-2 mg of morphine every 3-4 hours is pretty standard even in the ICU’s - or another way to put it - A LOT of money) …….the what seems like millions of dollars I spent on Red Bull….the 20 lbs I gained due to stress….the poking of little babies with needles and shoving NG tubes down their nose and making them cry (I swear, I did feel bad!!)….the vaginal birth I assisted with in OB which made me never want to have a child…..Getting screamed at by convicted murderers at the state psych hospital…..following charge nurse Cheryl (probably the most unhappy person ever)….the ICU…from being elbow deep in diarrhea and rushing to get to lunch right after…..all the code blues…… the mourning families…...and even the tears……

…………it was all for you, NCLEX.

We're in!

Hoooooray! My fiance Taylor and I are finally done moving in to my parents' house (for a little while)! Thanks to mom and dad, I will get to crash here while I study for my NCLEX-RN, begin my new job as an adolescent psych nurse, and move into a new apartment :)

So far, looks as though we have found an apartment that will suit our needs.  White kitchen cabinets, arched walk-throughs, a SECOND BEDROOM (finally! my new office/studio), and a location that is not quite within our "childhood" location, but still fairly close to our side of town.  - Mostly, I am just pretty darn happy that I will not be boxing things for a while...well, at least a couple months :)

NCLEX

Man on man - so I am officially registered and scheduled to take my NCLEX-RN on Monday, June 15th at 2 pm!! Holy ****! I have a goal of doing 3000 practice questions in the next couple weeks...equaling to roughly 200-250 questions per day :(  I will do questions until I am blue in the face....I will do questions until I wanna puke....I will do these damn questions until I become an RN.

Etsy shop update!

Soooo, my etsy shop is doing so much better than ever expected! I opened my shop this past March and the response has been great! I suppose it is because I try to keep prices reasonable.  I think the best thing to do as a seller is always think about what I would want to buy.  I can't just think about how it looks, or how much it costs.  Its everything! If anyone has any suggestions for anything that could better my shop, leave me some tips!! :D

My first reupholstering project....

Yay! So my before & after photos of my coach project have been featured on DesignSponge!! You can view "tiffany's couch" on the before/after section on their site at: www.designspongeonline.com !

Story:
So, I bought this couch for $20 from Craigslist.  I had been wanting to tackle reupholstering for a while.  Aside from the cost of the couch, it cost a total of $216 for supplies, including: staple gun, staples, paint, brushes, padding/foam, and fabric.  NOW - the fabric is the most exciting part....because this awesome fabric was on clearance, for $3/yard! It cost a total of $26 for the fabric for the whole couch!

We are very pleased with the outcome :)

I am back!

Haha, okay, so I have another blog on Tumblr, but i used to have one here on blogspot, and decided to come back :)

Lets see, what has been going on? I have been crazy busy finishing nursing school, and handling my etsy shop at the same time! I hit my 100th sale this week and am uber happy!!
